This will be a great tool for the community and we are looking forward to reading your posts.

Other website highlights of note: Make the most of your symposium experience, guided by the plethora of information inside our Symposium section. Easily start or renew your membership inside our Membership pages. Guide your research using the renowned PAMA Bibliography, now containing over 14,000 entries! Pre-Conference Workshop "Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine Course: From Classroom to Stage"

wrkshpballThe Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine is a one day multidisciplinary enrichment course offered by the PAMA education committee. Designed to match the professional interests and career goals of both clinicians and educators new to performing arts medicine, this course will showcase the music and dance communities through a behavioral and social science perspective while highlighting specific opportunities and techniques for engagement, education, prevention, and treatment in response to various arts-specific health concerns. Collectively, participants will hear introductory and research-based lectures on associated risk factors, life-span issues, and the interactive, cultural, and contextual distinctions of health problems that are unique to performing artists. Connected to the continuum of discovery, this introductory course will enable attendees to consider and apply some basic educational and clinical intervention strategies. The target audience includes clinicians, dance and music educators, and other healthcare professionals interested in learning the essential information needed to provide initial assessment, treatment, referrals and general educational recommendations for the performing artist. (Includes: physicians, physician assistants, nurses, athletic trainers, physical and occupational therapists, other healthcare professionals, dance and music educators.)

Dutch Journal to Focus on Performing Arts Medicine

The Dutch Journal of Occupational and Insurance Medicine (TBV) publishes (in Dutch, not in English) research and practical articles for occupational and insurance physicians in the Netherlands. The Journal has no impact factor. The yearly theme number of 2014 focuses on work-related health problems among musicians, dancers and art performers. International researchers having published recently relevant studies in English in peer-reviewed journals, can be invited to send their published work to TBV for a ‘double-publication’. Such double publication is only done after formal agreement of a) the author, and b) the Journal that already published the material. Translation costs are covered by TBV.
